Typically, a regular road bike is able to carry 300 pounds with no problem. Hence, if you don’t weight more than 300 pounds, any road bike should be able to handle your weight.
If you do weight more than 300 pounds, then you can choose to get road bikes that are made from much stronger alloys; which allows the road bike to carry more weight.
However, if you weight more than 500+ pounds, then a road bike might not be suitable for you. Thankfully, there are other bike types that can carry even up to 1,000 pounds. Just ask advice from the local shops. As a tip, don’t ask just 1 local shop. Ask as many as you can. Some people are not really interested in helping you, but rather help their bottom line.
